Those first ten pounds are usually the most difficult to lose. It can feel like you are starving yourself and it is so easy to quit and seek comfort in those high calorie foods we all know are bad for us.
Find a friend who can support you or one that will also join you in your quest to lose weight. If that doesn’t work, try to find a support group. There are many about these days and many are free or inexpensive to join.
Getting rid of those first ten pounds will be easier if you have some support. Don’t be afraid to ask people as you’ll need all the help you can get. The more you have, the better for you.
Why not try to kick start your diet with 2-3 days of body cleansing. Our bodies are designed to store fat when there is an abundance to see us through the lean times. However, for most the lean times don’t come. You need to tell your body the lean times have arrived and now it needs to burn fat.
Therefore tell your body that there is no more storing fat and that the body needs to release that fat now. Just reducing your calories alone will take much longer than you might have anticipated.
The cleansing period is the first three days and the idea is to eat a very low calorie, low fat diet made up of healthy soups and salads with only a small amount of meat.
After the three days, change your diet to one that has the recommended calorie level for your height. If you manage to get through the three days, you will find it a lot easier to keep on track with your diet. Your hunger should also have been curbed by the cleanse.
It is very important for you to know that it is not very likely to loose ten pounds within less then a month. To lose ten pounds you need to seriously stick to your diet and exercising regime and then you might see a weight loss of five to ten pounds somewhere between 4 to 10 weeks of dieting.
The excess weight you have did not appear overnight and so expect it to take some time to get rid.
You will probably want to give up before you have lost the 10 pounds but stick at it. Treat yourself. Not with high calorie foods but why not have a spa treatment or have your hair done to celebrate what weight you have managed to lose. It will increase your motivation to keep going.
